Blackcomb Lower
Frontside Area

The Lower Frontside of Blackcomb. Source: Whistler Blackcomb Trail Map
The Blackcomb Lower Frontside area is located on the lower part of Blackcomb above the Blackcomb base and below the Blackcomb Gondola Mid Station. This area offers a range of Green and Blue runs and even some unmarked quasi-Black runs. Green Line is the main Green run that zigzags down the lower front side. Lower Gear Jammer, Upper Main Line, and Lower Cruiser are all good Blue runs.
The Blackcomb Gondola is the way to upload onto Blackcomb from the Blackcomb base. You can either get off at the gondola mid station and ski the Lower Frontside, or you can take it to the top to Rendezvous Lodge. The Excalibur Gondola is the way to upload onto Blackcomb from the Whistler Village base. At the top of Excalibur, you can choose to either ski the Lower Frontside or take the Excelerator Express Chairlift further up the mountain towards the Jersey Cream Express Chairlift area.

Gondolas/Lifts
-
Blackcomb Gondola: This is the new eight-person gondola that runs from the Blackcomb base area up to Rendezvous Lodge. The gondola slows down to allow entry/exit about halfway up the front side of Blackcomb at the Blackcomb Gondola Mid Station.
-
Excalibur Gondola: This is the eight-person gondola that runs from the Whistler base halfway up the front side of Blackcomb. The gondola slows down to allow entry/exit one third of the way up at the Excalibur Gondola Mid Station. Most people who park in Blackcomb Parking Lots 6, 7, and 8 use the mid station as their starting point to upload onto the mountain.
-
Magic Chairlift: This is the short, slow chairlift that runs from the Blackcomb base up to the Excalibur Gondola Mid Station area. It is primarily used by the ski school to get kids and beginners to the top of Yellow Brick Road (Green) for lessons. This is one of the oldest chairs in Whistler Blackcomb and is a reminder of what chairlifts used to be like
Lodges/Huts
-
Blackcomb Day Lodge: The Blackcomb Day Lodge is the main Whistler Blackcomb Resort building at the base of Blackcomb Mountain. It includes a customer service center, ticket booths, Merlin’s Pub, Merlin’s Café, a small shop (for clothing, gloves, goggles, etc.), washrooms, and a tuning and rental shop in the Basement.
-
Merlin's Bar & Grill: Merlin’s Pub is a classic ski pub at the Blackcomb base and a great spot for après ski.
Main Routes
-

-
Lower Cruiser: This is the main Blue run down the Blackcomb Lower Frontside. Lower Cruiser starts at the top of the Excalibur Gondola and runs down to end on Greenline (Green) just above the Blackcomb base area.
