Transportation

If you are arriving at Vancouver International Airport (YVR), you have several options for getting to Whistler including rental cars, shared shuttle buses, privates shuttles or a taxi / Uber.   Once in Whistler, there is a good public bus transit service as well as taxi's if you need to get around the resort area (and you don't have your own car).

If you are visiting Whistler and need transportation to and from the resort, there are a couple of options to consider:

Rental Cars

For many people, a rental car from Vancouver International Airport / YVR (or another entry point) is a good option to consider.   A rental car will allow you to stop and pick up groceries, travel at your own pace and also explore the area and other activities around the resort itself.  If you do rent a car, check with your accommodations in Whistler if they have parking for your car.   Also check with the rental company to confirm that the car has proper Winter tires (a legal requirement for the highway up to Whistler).

Shuttle Bus

There are also several shuttle bus companies that run regular shuttles from Vancouver to Whistler and back.   If you decide to use this option, make sure to check the pickup times and locations to confirm if they work with your arrival and departure times.

Private Shuttle

If you want a more luxurious & private option to get from Vancouver to Whistler, there are also several private limo and shuttle services available.

Taxi / Uber

A final option might be to take a Taxi or Uber (or similar) from Vancouver to Whistler.   However, this is probably going to be pricey and you would need to check if they would be willing to take you as far as Whistler.

Hotel Shuttles

Many hotels in Whistler offer their own shuttle services for guests. These shuttles typically provide transportation around the resort, to ski lifts, and to local attractions. It's a convenient option if you're staying at a hotel that offers this service.

Ride Shares

Ride shares are another option in Whistler include big players like Uber and also a local rideshare called Whistle! (nice play on words, very nice).

Your Feet :-) ...
