The Whistler Lower Frontend Area is located on the lower part of Whistler, immediately above Whistler Village. The Whistler Village Gondola and Fitzsimmons Express Chairlift provide the two ways to upload onto Whistler Mountain from the village area. The Whistler Village Gondola runs up to the Olympic Mid Station and then continues up to the top next to the Roundhouse Lodge. The Fitzsimmons Chairlift runs up to the same lower mid mountain area as the Olympic Mid Station. There are a limited set of Blue and Green runs in this area that lead down to the Whistler Village base.

This area is mostly used by skiers and snowboarders to exit from Whistler Mountain down into the village. There is also the Olympic Learning Zone situated uphill from the Olympic Mid Station.  This is a great area for kids and adults who are learning how to ski and snowboard.

Skill Level
  • The Green and Blue runs in this area that lead down to Whistler Village Base are used by everyone (all skill levels) to ski-out at the end of the day.

  • During the day, these Green & Blue runs are heavily used by the Ski School for training and lessons.

  • The Green runs around the Olympic Chairlift in the learning area are great for beginner skiers and boarders.

Main Routes
  • Lower Olympic: This is the main Green run that leads out of the Olympic Mid Station area down to the Whistler Village base. It can get very busy at the end of the day, as everyone uses this
